I’ve used lots of different cap clip options to install hubcaps onto transport wheels. Some good and some bad. I have a design that I prefer most and I’m selling it as the “Simple Clips” Kit. After installing multiple sets, I’ve taken what I’ve learned and experienced and tried to create a kit that truly is “Simple.”
This kit is designed to install 10.25 Dog Dish Hubcaps to steel smoothie wheels but can work on a wide range of wheels. This kit is not designed for factory nub style wheels or wheels designed for an internal cap mount. If your wheel is not completely flat, they will not work. If you’re trying to use this on any wheels besides transports or other smoothie wheels, please email or text me to confirm they will work.

- The cardstock template is thicker and designed to sit flush on the wheels so you’re not trying to push the paper to the contour of the wheels. It also has folded tabs that help you make sure it’s centered on the wheel.
- The kit will come with 20 clips, 20 bolts, drill/tap set, cardstock template, and a linked installation video.
- You can click Add Tap Magic and T-Handle in the options to include the cutting lubricant and the tap tool.
I highly recommend adding the tap magic or making sure to have your own during drilling and tapping. If you do not use lubricant, you WILL break a drill bit or tap.
Only use hand tools while tightening the bolts. Do not use an impact or drill. If you’re using 73-87 Squarebody hubcaps, they tend to have a thicker lip on the backside not allowing them to clip firmly. One solution to this is adding a washer between the wheel and clip to space out the clip slightly to account for the thicker lip. If this still doesn’t work, try slightly bending one clip at a time outward until you achieve the fit desired.
***4.1.24 Updated clip design. This new design clip has more flexibility allowing squarebody hubcaps to fit without adding washers to the back side. This new kit does not require the large washers as mentioned in the installation video below. This first design worked great but I've heard the feedback about squarebody hubcaps and I'm focused on always improving a product so it works with all 10.5 dogdish hubcaps!

These were perfect for my custom application! Read the directions and follow accordingly! Makes sure you use lube on the tap because it will for sure break if you do not!

I was a little nervous to bore out centers on my transports and drill holes for cap clips, but after talking to travis and watching his videos it made the process super easy and SIMPLE!! Great product and service.

This “SIMPLE” clip kit is absolutely amazing!! Travis is just a great human being as well! I called and immediately gathered that Travis was just eager to help, not just sell me his product. I had a “copy cat” clip kit that was on the truck when I purchased and had lost two hubcaps. I purchased the kit here and had it fully installed in a couple of hours.
